Why Kōkua?
Kōkua is a Hawaiian word that means “to care, aid, provide assistance”.
Our family has traveled to the Hawaiian islands and fell in love with the ideals of Aloha and ‘Ohana.
Since we consider dogs our 'Ohana, a word that means family, we treat them with Aloha - Love and Compassion!
I find great satisfaction in having helped many dogs over the years achieve the balance they need and crave to live long happy lives. Over the past 20 years we have adopted several rescue dogs for our own family.
Whether a puppy or a senior, no dog is too young or too old to start enjoying life

Our rates are $60 for the first 90 minutes for your initial consultation and $60 per hour afterwards.
Behaviours
Barking
Dogs bark for many reasons including boredom, being territorial, and fear. This can be really annoying!
Finding the cause will allow us to work towards lessening the frequency and intensity of their barking.
Aggression
Aggression can be caused by many issues including fear, lack of socialization, or improper training.
Changing aggressive behaviour is normally possible with simple techniques, care and patience.
Walking
Many dogs could walk better on leash.
Maybe they pull, get distracted, scared, or simply have never been taught.
We can show you simple methods to make walks with your pet pleasant.
Other Issues
Whether it's peeing on the floor, obsessions with objects, or something else, let us know and we'll help!
We will to get to the root cause of these issues and then work with you to overcome them.
Our Philosophy
There are no bad dogs, only owners who have yet to learn how to relate to them.
We believe that dogs are an important part of your 'Ohana but, when they have issues they can be hard to handle.
We will discover the root of the problem, and show you things you can do to help your dog become the best friend you always wanted them to be.
In essence, we will teach you how to think like a dog!
